How to make cookies and cream bark
For the full ingredient measurements and step-by-step instructions, scroll down to view the recipe card at the bottom of the page.
First, line an 8×8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper.
Next, add chocolate sandwich cookies to a sealed plastic bag. Using a rolling pin, crush them into chunks.
In a large bowl, add white chocolate chips or melting wafers. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between, until fully melted through. Alternatively, melt in a double boiler on the stovetop.
Next, pour the melted white chocolate into the baking dish and spread in an even layer. Top with the crushed cookies. Using a rubber spatula, press the crushed cookies into the melted white chocolate.
After, store in the freezer for 30 minutes or until set. Remove from the freezer. Gently lift parchment paper out of the dish to remove the bark. Using clean hands or a knife, break into pieces. Enjoy!
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Do Oreos have dairy or eggs?
No, they do not contain dairy or eggs. Surprisingly, Oreos are dairy-free and egg-free.
Can vegans eat Oreos?
Yes! Since Oreos do not contain animal products, they are vegan-friendly.
Where to buy vegan white chocolate?
If you are vegan, make sure you use dairy-free white chocolate chips. I recommend choosing from the brands below:
- Enjoy Life Mini White Baking Chips
- Pascha Organic Vegan White Chocolate Chips
- Dee Best Vegan White Chocolate Flavored Chips
- King David White Choco Chips
- Lieber’s Real White Chocolate Chips
Why is my white chocolate not melting?
White chocolate can be finicky. Since it’s not real chocolate, it doesn’t melt as easily as dark or milk chocolate. If it overcooks or comes into contact with moisture while melting, it will seize up.
In order to prevent this, be patient and slowly melt the white chocolate. You can either use the microwave or a double boiler. If using a microwave, cook in 30-second intervals and stir between each one. If using a double boiler, do not to let any moisture in the pot.
Recipe variations
Spruce it up by trying one of the simple recipe variations below. Feel free to get creative with your own, too!

- Crushed peppermint candy: During the holiday season, add crushed peppermint candy on top
