What is gingerbread cookie dip made of?
- Cream cheese: Use regular cream cheese or vegan cream cheese. Make sure it is a plain or unflavored variety. For a dairy-free option, I like the Toffuti brand.
- Butter: Use regular butter or vegan butter.
- Brown sugar: Brown sugar adds a sweet flavor. You can use dark or light brown sugar.
- Powdered sugar: Powdered sugar, also known as confectioner’s sugar, is essential for this recipe. Make sure you sift it while adding it to the bowl. This will remove clumps, ensuring your dip is smooth and creamy.
- Molasses: This is a key ingredient for creating a gingerbread cookie flavor.
- Vanilla extract: Vanilla adds sweetness and makes it taste extra delicious.
- Cinnamon: This spice adds warmth and a woody, citrusy flavor.
- Ginger: Ginger helps create an authentic gingerbread cookie flavor.
- Salt: Salt enhances the sweet ingredients.
